A trip to St. Lucia without a trip to Cape Vidal
would be like taking a trip to New
York and not going to see the Statue of Liberty. A truly
unique trip where you could see the largest land animal (elephant) and the
largest sea animal (whale). Cape
Vidal is 32km from St. Lucia with
access on a tarred road. We meander through a game reserve where it is VERY
common to see rhinos, many different antelope, zebra, warthog plus a host of
other animals before we arrive at the beaches. En route we
stop and take a gentle walk up to the Mount Tabor
view point where guests will be treated to outstanding views of the
St. Lucia Lake and Estuary on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. We also take guests up to the
Whale Watching tower at Cape Vidal, although this is mostly during the Whale
season (June-Nov), it is optional out of season for guests who may be lucky
enough to spot dolphins.

The golden beaches provide a perfect
snorkeling experience for novices and more experienced swimmers. Sightings of
colourful reef
fish, rays, octopus, fire fish, sea slugs, and numerous habitant reef feeding
fish are common. Turtles can also be seen. For those who do not wish to
swim –the ambiance of the golden beaches is enough. After you have spent some
time on the beach a traditional South African “braai” (barbeque) is enjoyed
under the casuarinas on the edge of the
beach.
We then meander back to
St.
Lucia with an optional stop off at the
crocodile center.
